It is customary to hang a Shir Lamaalot in the room of the new mother and the newborn immediately upon the expectant mother’s arrival at the hospital. This serves as a safeguard for mother and baby, both during the birth itself so that it will proceed normally and easily, and also during the following days and months so that they will be healthy and live a long life.

As part of a child’s upbringing, we try to ensure that the child is exposed to holy objects or images soon after birth. This practice highlights the significance of surrounding a child with purity and sanctity from the very beginning of their life.
